One of the main reasons people come to Cornwall is to enjoy its environment - both the natural and built environment. We believe it is our responsibility to protect and preserve the natural environment now and for the future without impinging the holiday experience you expect to enjoy.
We seek to minimise our consumption of energy by utilising low energy lighting and having lights controlled by movement or light sensors where practical. Our shower blocks utilize solar panels to heat water and reduce gas consumption, together with light pipes to bring natural light into rooms that would otherwise require increased artificial lighting and roof windows for natural light and ventilation.
We provide recycling opportunities on the park for glass, cans, plastic and paper. It is our aim to continue to increase the amount we recycle and reduce the amount we send to landfill. To support the local economy we try and source products from local suppliers and use products with a low environmental impact. We also allow local providers to trade on the park and provide service that other parks would keep 'in-house'
We seek to increase our use of electronic communications to reduce consumption or printed materials. Whilst much of the park requires the grass etc to be kept short where possible we allow grass and hedges to grow encouraging wild flowers, insects and other animals to thrive.
How can you help? Please don't waste energy or water by leaving lights or heating on unnecessarily. Use the recycling bins correctly; contaminating bins with incorrect material can result in the whole bin going to land fill rather than being re-cycled. Please don't leave bagged rubbish overnight - the seagulls will spread it far and wide!
Try some 'car free days' by walking or using public transport, especially, please don't drive to the shower block from your tent! When booking, if you can do this on-line or by phone it saves us sending a printed brochure and is quicker.
